How shall we live?

A brief introduction to the question that animates this book, and to the contemporary relevance of logotherapy and existential analysis.

01

The central question

How shall we live?

We live with unprecedented information, choice, and connection. We also live with uncertainty, loneliness, and disorientation. The question is not only how to feel better, but how to live, what matters, and what is worth responding to.

Viktor Frankl moved the question of meaning from abstraction into lived experience. The task is not to discover one universal answer, but to discern what this moment asks of us, within freedom and constraint, relationship and responsibility, suffering and possibility.

Meaning is not only something we understand. It is something we discover, enact, and answer through our lives.
